During the course of a year there are many religious and cultural celebrations.

Fashions come and go and it is always interesting to see how designers interpret these occasional celebrations with the way the table settings, rooms and food presentations are styled.

Garden and Home magazine approached us to interpret Christmas in true Atomic orchid style.

We were honored to be amongst  a few other featured designers in the December 2015 issue.

Atomic orchid’s signature style is always slick ,glamorous and organic, resting firmly on the cutting edge of design.

We like simplicity and elegant styling using less elements that supply great visual impact and therefore chose the dramatic showrooms of the Home fabrics warehouse in Kramerville,Johannesburg as our location.

An all white canvas is always an ideal starting point to work from and set the tone for an ethereal, elegant European styled fantasy.

We suspended glass baubles above the dining room table that housed tea lights, adding a dramatic canopy of flickering lights above the dining room table.

Texture and contrast is another one of our signature elements and for this design we chose course sea salt as a “table cloth”.

Various elements such as Carol Boyes table ware, silver antique raindeer candelabra and fresh cut white orchid stems-planted in the sea salt created a vision of white, festive elegance.

What makes this design so endearing is the fact that it can easily be re-interpreted with other elements.

All you need is enthusiasm and a resourceful attitude to make the design your own.
